The final C-17 Globemaster III evacuated from Joint Base Charleston, S.C. due to Hurricane Irma’s potential landfall returns here Sept. 15, 2017. More than 20 C-17s were evacuated from JB Charleston in response to Hurricane Irma.  Airmen of the 437th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron ensured the relocated C-17s were maintained and prepared to conduct hurricane recovery operations to the South while located at alternate installations. JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - The final C-17 Globemaster III evacuated from Joint Base Charleston, S.C. due to Hurricane Irma’s potential landfall returns here Sept. 15, 2017. More than 20 C-17s were evacuated from JB Charleston in response to Hurricane Irma. Airmen of the 437th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron ensured the relocated C-17s were maintained and prepared to conduct hurricane recovery operations to the South while located at alternate installations.
