JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Wright, foreground, Navy Munitions Command Atlantic Unit Charleston Marine Corps Liaison Office member, observes Vernon Bankston, background, 628th Logistics Readiness Squadron ground transportation braker switchman, as he communicates with a train conductor during a munitions container download at Joint Base Charleston’s Naval Weapons Station Aug. 21. Marines attached to the NMC’s Marine Corps Liaison Office are responsible for inspecting munitions containers to ensure they are receiving quality items that are safe to use. These Marines work alongside NMC civilians and members of the U.S. Air Force 628th LRS during the download of containers in preparation for transport to their final destination.
