Training detachment prepares future C-17 maintainers
JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Nathon Horrocks, 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 5 flight controls training instructor, teaches proper flight control maintenance to an Airman Nov. 22, 2016, at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. 373rd TRS Det. 5 has 11 Maintenance Training Devices (MTDs) on site. MTDs are sections of the C-17 for the students to train in a safe and controlled setting while developing their technical skills. The hands-on training helps familiarize students with the aircraft and its key parts.
