Joint Base Charleston Fire Department firemrn show visitors how to properly put out fires with a fire simulation game during a fire prevention week event Oct. 6, 2015, at the Base Exchange on JB Charleston – Air Base, S.C. Fire prevention week was Oct. 4 through Oct. 10 and the JB Charleston Fire Department hosted several events around the Air Base and Weapons Station. Fire prevention week was established in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge when close to 15,000 American citizens died in fires the previous year.
