Newly manufactured military High Mobility Engineer Excavators await the arrival of a C-5 on the Charleston AFB, S.C., flightline Sept. 29, 2008. The HMEEs will be transported to forward-deployed locations to assist Soldiers and contractors in hostile environments. The HMEE is a newly developed military construction vehicle capable of a wide range of mobility affording more protection for the operator than conventional excavators.
