An empty home is demolished at Joint Base Charleston - Air Base Oct. 20, in order to make room for the new private housing which will be constructed by Forest City Military Communities. The privatization project will involve the demolition of 468 existing housing units and construction of 335 new homes. The new homes are scheduled to  begin to become available in the fall of 2012.
