Proudly serving as your new Command Master Chief

By Asa Worcester, Command Master Chief J628th Air Base Wing

Happy Independence Day, Lowcountry Warriors and families!  I am proud to serve as your Joint Base Charleston Command Master Chief.  I am here for you and to help you all continue to do the OUTSTANDING things you do day in and day out.

As we celebrate the birth of our nation, let's remember the reasons we declared- fought for and won-our independence.  Please take just a moment and reflect on all the blessings we have as a proud people, and make sure we stay safe so we can all be back to work keeping our nation and our allies safe.

This is my first article, so I'll let you all know a little about me.  I have 23 years of service in the Navy, and during my time I've served on eight warships and trained thousands of Sailors during two instructor tours at the Naval Gunnery School and Center for Surface Combat Systems in Great Lakes, IL.

I have never been stationed here in the Lowcountry but I couldn't be more excited to learn a new area and serve Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Coast Guardsmen and Marines.  I may not be an expert or even a novice in your particular fields. However, I can remove roadblocks to help you do your best and become more efficient as we work together supporting the Joint Base Charleston team.

I am here for E-1's to O-10's, our families and our civilians who make the machine go every day.  Please don't think because I am Navy you can't reach out to me for assistance.  I can almost guarantee that even though I may not know the answer at first, I will work my tail off to get you the right response.

As I continue to learn my way around the Air Base and Weapons Station, don't hesitate to say hello and don't laugh too hard when I get lost and ask directions.
