We are hurting as a nation, we are hurting as communities and we are hurting as individuals. We are a nation of great accomplishment, we are a nation of sorrowful moments and we are an imperfect nation always searching for a better tomorrow. We are a nation and a military of diverse experiences, beliefs and pursuits… we are Americans.
We cannot control the actions of others, but we must always support the Airman and the Sailor to our left and right. We embrace our differences and place service ahead of self so that others may exercise the fragile liberties handed down to our care. As professionals and individuals, we are pacesetters for the society we defend, for the communities we join and for the families we love.
Personal experience offers little counsel at times and we often find ourselves at a loss for the right words when basic truths ring loudest. Serving with each of you is the greatest professional and personal honor.
The wing is here to support you and your family. We are here to help now and always. A better tomorrow begins with individuals committed to supporting each other, with Americans of principle and with each of you.
