Joint Base Charleston was honored for its comprehensive recycling program that resulted in earning more than $268,000 from the sale of recyclable materials and a reduction in disposal costs of almost $7,000. In addition, the base has a green procurement policy that requires products and services meet high environmental standards regardless of procurement method or purchase value.
