CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Senior Airman Brien Oxford is a Phoenix Raven with the 437th Security Forces Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB since June.
As a Phoenix Raven member, he is a specially trained Airman dedicated to providing security for Air Mobility Command's aircraft that transit to high terrorist and criminal threat areas.
He contributes to Team Charleston's mission by providing security measures for Air Force resources valued at millions of dollars.
This "Warrior of the Week" hails from Dawson, Ga., and enlisted in the Air Force six years ago. He joined the Air Force for the opportunity to get away from home and travel to different parts of the world.
"I like my job because I get to travel and see the world for free," said Airman Oxford. "Recently, I received the opportunity to go on a deployment to Africa."
Airman Oxford hopes to be a successful NCO.
"Airman Oxford recently became a part of our Phoenix Raven section and I immediately noticed his unselfish attitude to step forward and assist with base and squadron activities," said Staff Sgt. Toma Ferguson, 437 SFS Phoenix Raven scheduler. "His professionalism and willingness to accomplish tasks sets an example for all Ravens."
