CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Staff Sgt. Gregory Ford is a C-17 evaluator loadmaster with the 16th Airlift Squadron. He has been stationed at Charleston AFB for six years.
As an evaluator loadmaster, Sergeant Ford ensures Charleston's loadmasters are properly trained to follow technical data and operate in a safe manner. His additional duties include special operations, inspecting dual row platforms and he is also a joint precision airdrop system loadmaster and instructor. He contributes to Team Charleston's mission by training newly assigned loadmasters.
This "Warrior of the Week" hails from Charleston and enlisted in the Air Force 10 years ago. He joined the Air Force to follow family tradition. His future goal is to complete his degree in professional aeronautics.
"I like being able to take Airmen and train them to a level of confidence in their job so they're able to conquer any task asked of them on the aircraft without a second thought," Sergeant Ford.
Sergeant Ford has been deployed numerous times and has traveled worldwide for the last six years.
"He has the ability to help Airmen understand the work they're doing and how it impacts the mission and their careers," said Chief Master Sgt. Steven Woodside, 16 AS chief enlisted manager.
