JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –
The Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society was established in 1904 to provide financial assistance, education and other services to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows and survivors. The active-duty fund drive in support of the NMCRS began March 1 and will run through April 15, 2018. Much of the aid provided by the NMCRS is through interest-free loans or grants. In an emergency, NMCRS can provide assistance for basic living needs, such as food, rent, and utilities; essential vehicle repairs; emergency travel; disaster relief and funeral assistance. The Society also has caseworkers to provide financial counseling to help service members plan for better financial stability.
