JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior officials from the Medical University of South Carolina receive a briefing from JB Charleston Airmen inside the Transportation Isolation System May 22, 2018, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The TIS is an airtight pod intended to keep pathogens inside and away from the aircrew and aircraft, while allowing caregivers to treat patients. It was developed in response to the West African Ebola outbreak in 2014.
