JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Kids from the ages of 10 to 18 built makeshift cars with a battery, wooden sticks, wheels, straws, wires and a tiny motor during a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics event at the Chapel Annex in Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Aug. 14. The STEM event was used as an initiative for local youth to learn about the different military career fields that use science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
