Major Gen. Timothy Byers, the Air Force Civil Engineer, Staff Sgt. Douglas Ryan, 628th Explosive Ordnance Disposal noncommissioned officer in charge of training and his wife Becka Ryan pose for a photo after Ryan was presented with the Air Force Combat Action Medal and the Bronze Star Medal June 27 at the Joint Base Charleston Theater. Ryan deployed once to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. In addition to the Air Force Combat Action Medal and Bronze Star, he has also received the Army Combat Action Badge and the Navy/Marines Corps Combat Action Ribbon as well as multiple Army Commendation medals.
