Humble, credible, approachable – these three qualities personify the United States Air Force Weapons School (USAFWS) recipients and nominees of its prestigious Robbie Risner Award.

The Risner Award is the USAFWS’s tribute to U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. James Robbie Risner, a fighter pilot, senior leader and a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. Risner, who completely embodied those traits, continues to inspire Airmen going through USAFWS courses.

Airmen looking to retrain receive guidance from Career Assistance Advisor

Nearly 30,000 Americans joined the Air Force in fiscal year 2018, many doing so without knowing which career field they would go into.

Whether they joined yesterday or are approaching retirement, the one thing all Airmen have in common is that they go where the Air Force needs them. For some Airmen, the career field they go into is a great fit, for others that is not always the case. One option for Airmen who are not satisfied with their current job is retraining.

Honor guard supports active duty funeral

When a civilian raises their right hand to swear in to the United States Air Force, they know they could possibly give their life defending their country. Likewise, when volunteering for the base honor guard flight, Airmen know they could possibly lay to rest one of those Airmen who gave the ultimate sacrifice. That was the case for Joint Base Charleston, S.C.’s honor guard flight when Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, they laid to rest an active duty Airman after he lost his life.
Concern, fear, anxiety, and fatigue shadow the rigid, but unorthodox position of attention among the young men and women of the 315th Airlift Wing Development and Training Flight here. Mixed among those faces, beamed a glimmer of pride and patriotism that sparked the initiative of these recently enlisted trainees who are bound for Air Force basic military training.
After 22-years of service, most people start thinking about retirement… well, not everyone. In a somewhat unusual move, 1st Lt.
