Thad Bibb 18th Air Force commander, paid a visit to Joint Base Charleston  Airmen Feb. 24-26, 2021, as part of an effort to learn more about the daily mission of the 437th Airlift Wing and its support to the 18th Air Force. Bibb was accompanied by Chief Master Sgt. Chad W. Bickley, 18th Air Force command chief master sergeant.

Hosted by Col. Jaron Roux, 437th AW commander, 18th Air Force leaders toured various facilities across the installation for a behind-the-scenes look at base operations while also visiting with service members in action.

Personnel assigned to the 628th CES/WFSM are responsible for the upkeep of sewer lines, fire suppression systems and water distribution.

The TIS is a device used to transport Ebola patients, either by C-17 Globemaster III or C-130 Hercules, while preventing the spread of disease to medical personnel and aircrews until the patient can get to one of three designated hospitals in the United States that can treat Ebola patients. JB Charleston is currently the only military installation with a TIS. The TIS mission is a sub-specialty of the aeromedical evacuation mission which requires frequent training to maintain readiness.' /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;

      <title>JB Charleston participates in Red Ribbon Week</title>

      <description>According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse for Teens, 40 percent of 12th graders said they have used a drug at least once in the past year. Red Ribbon Week, which takes place October 23-31, is an awareness program that began in 1985 as a way to show opposition to drugs as stated by the Get Smart About Drugs foundation.  

Marrington Elementary School is celebrating Red Ribbon Week with various events and activities such as spirit days, fundraisers and an assembly featuring narcotic detection military working dogs. Students are always encouraged to not take drugs, but during Red Ribbon Week there is extra emphasis and students are given strategies to say no when confronted with negative choices.

July 1, 2019. CATM facilitates readiness by equipping Airmen with the knowledge and skills to use weapons properly, and provides support to local and regional military branches. Brobst will be transferring to the Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment, Mayport, Fla. NAVCON Brig Charleston’s mission is to ensure the security, good order and discipline, safety of adjudged and pretrial prisoners, and detain enemy combatants in accordance with guidance from the president through the secretary of defense. NAVCON Brig Charleston also aims to retrain and restore the maximum number of prisoners to honorable service and prepare members to be productive citizens outside of the military.' /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;
