CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT RONNIE J. PHILLIPS JR.

 Chief Master Sergeant Ronnie J. Phillips Jr. is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 437th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, SC. He advises the wing commander, two groups, and seven squadron commanders on the utilization of over 1,600 enlisted members to ensure the wing's combat readiness. Additionally, he serves as the commander's representative on numerous committees, councils, and boards charged with meeting quality of force as well as quality of life needs for the base populace.

 

Chief Phillips is from Pampa Texas and entered the Air Force in December of 1990. His background includes leadership roles at Unit, Squadron, Wing, and Headquarters levels. He has been stationed at locations in Alaska, Georgia, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Virginia, Japan,
and Germany. He has served in a variety of leadership positions, such as Interim Command Chief, Group Superintendent, Squadron Superintendent, and Aircraft Maintenance Unit Chief. He has also held special duty assignments as the Special Programs Superintendent for the Defense Contract Management Agency and as E-3 AWACS Production Controller for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Airframes Chief Phillips has been associated with include the E-3 AWACS, NATO AWACS, E-8 Joint Stars, C-17 Globemaster, UH-1H/N Huey, HH-60G Pave Hawk, H/MC- 130H/J/P/N models, CV-22 Ospreys, and C-20/32A/37A/37B/40B Executive Airlift aircraft.
