New leader assumes command of 628th Air Base Wing

Col. Terrence Adams renders his first salute as commander to the men and women of the 628th Air Base Wing during a change of command ceremony Sept. 5, 2018, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Adams replaced Col. Jeff Nelson as commander of the wing and joint base after serving at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., as Air Mobility Command’s director of communications and chief information officer. Joint Base Charleston is one of 12 Department of Defense joint bases and is host to over 60 DOD and federal agencies. The 628th ABW delivers installation support to over 90,000 Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, dependents and retirees across four installations including the Air Base and Naval Weapons Station.

SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic holds leadership summit

Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic Executive Director Chris Miller discusses lessons learned in a wrap up of SSC Atlantic’s Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leadership Summit held March 21 and 22. Miller said it is more imperative than ever that IPTs execute projects quickly, and that the entire SSC Atlantic team supports IPT efforts. The summit focused on “Speed to the Fleet”. SSC Atlantic develops, acquires and provides life cycle support for command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, information technology and space capabilities. A leading-edge Navy engineering center, SSC Atlantic designs, builds, tests, fields and supports many of the finest frontline C4ISR systems in use today, and those being planned for the future.
