NAVCON Brig Charleston receives new commanding officer

U.S. Navy Cmdr. Carl Brobst, outgoing commanding officer of Naval Consolidated (NAVCON) Brig Charleston, right, relinquishes command to U.S. Navy Cmdr. During the ceremony, Garcia relieved Brobst as commanding officer of NAVCON Brig Charleston. Garcia was previously the executive officer for NAVCON Brig Charleston. Brobst will be transferring to the Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment, Mayport, Fla. NAVCON Brig Charleston’s mission is to ensure the security, good order and discipline, safety of adjudged and pretrial prisoners, and detain enemy combatants in accordance with guidance from the president through the secretary of defense. NAVCON Brig Charleston also aims to retrain and restore the maximum number of prisoners to honorable service and prepare members to be productive citizens outside of the military.

628th CPTS holds Change of Command

The squadron bid farewell to Lt. Col. Bryan Collins, the outgoing commander, and welcomed Lowe as the new squadron commander. The passing of the guidon is a ceremonious representation of an incoming commander's assumption of command. The change of command ceremony acts as a formal transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from the outgoing to incoming commander.

628th FSS hosts Change of Command ceremony

The 628th FSS is responsible for deploying services and personnel support teams, quality of life, professional and personal readiness, manpower and personnel services, food operations, lodging, fitness and leisure activities. Lane was previously the operations officer for the 21st Force Support Squadron, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

New leader assumes command of 628th Air Base Wing

Col. Terrence Adams renders his first salute as commander to the men and women of the 628th Air Base Wing during a change of command ceremony Sept. 5, 2018, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Adams replaced Col. Jeff Nelson as commander of the wing and joint base after serving at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., as Air Mobility Command’s director of communications and chief information officer. Joint Base Charleston is one of 12 Department of Defense joint bases and is host to over 60 DOD and federal agencies. The 628th ABW delivers installation support to over 90,000 Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, dependents and retirees across four installations including the Air Base and Naval Weapons Station.

437 OSS receives new commander

The 437th OSS is responsible for airfield management, life support services, flight records management, weather and intelligence support, airlift scheduling, tactical employment and aircrew training for approximately 1,400 active and reserve service members.
