JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Airmen with the 628th Medical Group sit outside waiting for patients at Joint Base Charleston S.C., April 15, 2020. The pharmacy implemented a prescription ‘drive-thru’ in front of the clinic entrance to aid in preventing the spread of COVID-19 to families and service members utilizing the facility. Patients are able to drive to the front entrance, which prompts assigned runners from the Medical Group to greet the patient and identify the information required to pull their prescriptions for them, eliminating the need for the patient to go inside the clinic. Patients requiring assistance inside the clinic must answer screening questions prior to entering the facility to mitigate the spread of any sicknesses, specifically COVID-19.
