Joint Base Charleston Airmen lift up a parachute alongside school children during the Military Day of Caring volunteer event Sept. 6, 2013, at Lambs Elementary School, Charleston, S.C. Approximately 2,500 service members from JB Charleston participated in the Day of Caring, volunteering their skills to assist with more than 50 projects in the local community. The base held their volunteer events a week earlier than Trident United Way's Day of Caring, due to events surrounding the delivery of the final U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III.
