U.S. Air Force Col. Martha Meeker and Mrs. Carmen Mikolajcik cut the ribbon to the new General Thomas R. Mikolajcik Child Development Center during the rededication ceremony at Joint Base Charleston on Dec. 16, 2010. The new center is named for Brig. Gen. Thomas Mikolajcik who was the former commander of the 437th Airlift Wing. Colonel Meeker is the 628th Air Base Wing commander and Mrs. Mikolajcik is the wife of former General Mikolajcik.
